The Reporters' Toolkit is a software application developed by Dynavations and branded under ReporterSupport.  The purpose of the Toolkit is to standardize, simplify and expedite the creation of transcripts from proceedings such as Court, Discovery, Inquest, etc.  The information contained on these pages is of a technical nature, relating to the installation, use and troubleshooting of the PCRTKv2 software.  Product & feature information is available in the Products section of the ReporterSupport website.  You can also view the list of features here.  You can check the Contact page for information on obtaining volume licensing, technical support or feature requests.

Software Requirements

There are three major requirements for the PCRTKv2

  • Microsoft Windows 2000 or higher (Windows XP is recommended)
  • Microsoft® .NET Framework 2.0 or higher (although we recommend version 2.0)
  • Microsoft Word 2000 or higher

Click here if you are not sure which version of Microsoft .NET you have.  Instructions on how to install the required 2.0 version are also available.


Toolkit Installation

The installation of the PCRTKv2 is very easy.  Simply download the latest version and save it to your desktop and double-click.  We have created a simple guide in Flash movie format to show you how to download and run the Toolkit installation from the Internet.

On some computers, you may find that your Word Macros Security Level is set too high to allow macros; to adjust these settings follow these instructions.  Note as well that certain Antivirus software will disable Word Macros - check your Antivirus help files or support web site for instructions on how to allow Word macros. 

Special consideration must be taken to install PCRTKv2 on a computer running Microsoft Windows 7.  Follow these instructions for Windows 7.
